Robert Hegeman is a multidisciplinary artist born in Vermont and shaped by a lifelong connection to wild, remote landscapes. His work explores the shifting relationship between environment, memory, and perception, drawing from extensive travel through the American and Canadian Rockies, the Alps, and the Arctic regions of Greenland where natural forms meet the forces of time and climate. In his paintings and works on paper, Robert distills these terrains into refined abstractions that balance graphic precision with atmospheric subtlety and the emotional resonance of place.

Alongside his studio practice, Robert has built a long and accomplished career as a Creative Director in digital experience design, leading visual and interactive systems for global brands. This dual expertise in art and design informs the compositional clarity and narrative sensitivity that run through his work.

Robert studied at the School of Visual Arts and The Art Students League in New York City, grounding his practice in both traditional and experimental approaches to image-making. He is also a member of the Creative Alliance for Protect Our Winters, reflecting his continued engagement with environmental preservation. He lives and works between Connecticut and New York.
