Drawn to remote environments from the American and Canadian Rockies to the Alps and the Arctic landscapes of Greenland, the work distills the geography of mountains, glaciers, snowfields, and horizons into refined compositions that move between landscape and abstraction. It explores the tension between observation and memory, using graphic structure, reduction, and atmospheric shifts to evoke the emotional experience of place.
The practice is grounded in a lifelong engagement with wild landscapes and an interest in the forces of time and climate that continually reshape them. The work considers not only what a landscape looks like, but how it is experienced, remembered, and transformed over time.
Robert studied at the School of Visual Arts and The Art Students League of New York. Alongside his studio practice, he spent more than two decades as a Creative Director specializing in digital experience design, branding, and visual communication for global brands. That background continues to inform the compositional clarity and visual language of the work.
He lives and works between Connecticut and New York.
